Thank you Chicago for participating in Earth Hour 2009. By turning off your lights for just one hour on Saturday night Commonwealth Edison announced that electricity usage in Illinois dropped 1%. 3.8 million ComEd customers saved about 100 megawatt hours of electricity which is the equivalent of removing around 154,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. 30 Year Fixed mortgage rates dropped again this week to an average of 4.85%! Down from last weeks low of 4.98%. Last Year at this time rates were 5.85%!
