Chicago, if you are not familiar with the River North area of the city, then take note.  River North is one of my favorite areas of the city and one in which I place many happy clients.

Below are the Top Five Reasons you should be considering River North for  your new home.

Location:  River North’s location can’t be beat.  If you want to be in the heart of the city then look no further.  River North’s boundaries are Michigan Avenue to the East, Chicago Avenue to the North and the Chicago River to the South and West.  Walk to work, walk to breakfast, lunch or dinner, bike to the lake or grab a cab, all that the city has to offer is just minutes away. Of course, if you are looking for something to do, you don’t even need to leave the neighborhood to find something to peak your interest.  Read on and see!

Transportation:  Nothing can stress a person out more then getting around town. Whether you are on foot, in a car or taking public transportation, you just want it to be quick, convenient and over fast!  No matter what mode you’ll take to get to your destination you won’t have far to look for ways to get around our bustling city.  One of my most favorite things about River North is the Ohio Feeder Ramp.  This quick and easy exit and entrance for the  I90 – 94 expressways makes living in the city and working in suburbs a dream. Heading to O’Hare? You can hop on and off with ease. It also makes visiting friends and family living in suburbs all the more convenient – for all parties involved!

Don’t drive or don’t want to?  No worries. There are a plethora of cabs racing through River North that will be happy to take you anywhere you would like to go. Want to grab a bus, the 66 runs right down Chicago Avenue or hop on the Brown or Purple line at Merchandise Mart or Chicago Avenue.

Diverse Living:  Love Lofts? High on High-rises? Value Vintage? Tantalized by Townhomes? Maniac for Mansions?  Don’t worry, you’ve found your new home in River North. I love the wide-range of housing types available in River North. This neighborhood truly caters to EVERY home buyer no matter what they are looking for.

The lofts at 758 North Larrabee, 360 West Illinois, 500 North Kingsbury and 520 West Huron are spacious and unique with every amenity a buyer could ask for.

Vintage building located on Huron, Sedswick and Chicago Avenue cater to those looking for vintage charm with updated interiors.

Glorious contemporary high-rises such as 510 West Erie, 653 North Kingsbury, Trump Tower – 401 North Wabash and 330 West Grand are the perfect place to begin looking.

The mansions on Huron and Superior between Hudson and Kingsbury will offer anyone looking for extra square footage just what they are looking for.  10,0000 square feet and up, these highly upgraded and customized homes offer home buyers elevators, media rooms, cathedral ceilings and spacious outdoor-space with skyline views.  I have shown in almost all of them and they are not to be missed.

Don’t need that much space? Try the towhnhomes at City Club, Tuxedo Park and the newer additions on Huron and Superior at Hudson. These spacious homes are approximately 4,000-6,000+ square feet and offer top of the line finishes for the most discriminating home buyer.

Restaurants:  Shopping for a new home making you hungry?  Some of the best dining in the city is located in River North.  Some of my personal favorites are  Japonais, Scoozi, Prosecco, Green Door Tavern, Club Lago, Roy’s and an after dinner toast at Pop’s.

The Views:  My #1 favorite thing about living in River North are the amazing views afforded to the people who live there and their guests.  Set back just blocks from the lakefront, River North looks out at our beautiful skyline in all of its glory. Day or night, it is always beautiful and it never disappoints.  You can own a one bedroom condominium that has a multi-million dollar view. From Sears Tower to John Hancock the city in all of her glory is laid out before you.

Sweet Home River North!
