Elton John and Billy Joel are scheduled to play Wrigley On July 21, 2009. The concert sold out so quickly that another show was added on July 16th. The problem is that another concert is scheduled for July 18th with country group Rascal Flatts performing. Their July 18th concert conflicts with the ever popular Summer on Southport festival. Concerns are that the three concerts are just too much for the neighborhood to handle and that the Rascal Flatts concert will pull attendance and revenue away from the Summer on Southport street festival. If you live in the neighborhood and feel strongly one way or the other, please reach out to your Alderman Tom Tunney.

I have been to concerts at Wrigley Field as well as the Winter Classic (Blackhawks vs Red Wings ) this past January and it is such a special and uniquely Chicago experience to see something other then baseball in this treasured venue. It is something not to be missed.

Thank you to the wonderful residents of Wrigleyville for opening your neighborhood to all those who come to share in the Wrigley and Chicago Cubs experience. You are great!
